In recent times, "online fashion store" have read
a number of reviews on beauty blogs concerning the ELF brand and thanks to
Victoire, I have had the opportunity to try out some of their products.
Review of tested ELF cosmetics beauty products.
The super shiny SPF 15 gloss
To shine, it shines!
Presented in the form of a tube, this gloss is delightfully and outrageously
sexy . I appreciated its sweet and suave scent which it deposits on the lips,
its capacity of hydration , its sparkling glitter for a raised effect and
finally, its enveloping texture (all the same a little sticky) of this Angel
color gloss ( in other words transparent). Only, after a few hours, the gloss
turns a little, leaving a white mark on the lips. Not famous! Better to touch up.
This is the only defect of this product because otherwise, it sublimates the
mouth, enhances it, without ostentation. ELF does not offer dark shades and it
is a shame.
The hydrating balm
He is great and keeps his
commitments! I chose the vanilla scent (there are 3 others: strawberry, orange
and blackberries). The balm is in the form of a stick that is applied in a thin
layer on dry or damaged lips (before the gloss or lipstick or solo before going
to bed at night). Thanks to components such as shea butter, vitamins A and E ,
the lips are protected, hydrated and then gradually repaired. I deplore an
overly fragile opening system which quickly broke.
Body butter
I have a big passion for very
moisturizing creams andin particular for body butters, advised to take care of
your skin during winter periods. I tried themilk and honeyscent. This body
butter hasexcellent advantages. The texture is not greasy, the butter does not
penetrate immediately (it is not however tedious), the fragrance is
pleasant,the skin is perfectly hydrated and softened. Conquered!
Nail polish
ELF offers no less than 32
shades of varnish . The choice is impressive . Without spending a fortune, you
can acquire multiple varnishes. Only, if it is easily applied thanks to an
aerodynamic brush which allows not to overflow (without making bundles) and
dries extremely quickly, the varnish does not last long . As far as I'm
concerned, after 24 hours, the burgundy varnish that I chose began to flake
despite the passage of the 2 regulatory layers (or even 3). A varnish that
lasts for an evening.
The blush (Studio)
Disappointed with this
product. I still appreciate the mirror embedded in the small rectangular case.
On the other hand, the texture of the blush is too volatile, crumbles and does
not hold. The Peachy Keen color is non-existent on my cheekbones.
FINAL VERDICT ABOUT THE BEAUTY PRODUCTS.
In my opinion, ELF products
are intended for those who wish to vary colors, tones, equip themselves with
makeup accessories and, for all teenage girls who want to start in makeup for
"pinuts". Even if there are happy surprises, cosmetics at sacrificed
prices (1 euro for the most part, 4.50 euros for body milks or butters, 6 euros
for a foundation…), do not work miracles. The quality is not necessarily there
and, I felt it for some of them. It is perhaps a detail but which is important,
the instructions have been translated in a fairly approximate manner with a lot
of inconsistencies or, the product compositions are in English. However, the
ELF range for the body ( below ) stands out and deserves some attention.
